Main Upgrades from the Previous Year
The new lineup left the 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engines behind, and now all vehicles come with V8 engines. There are two options, both delivering impressive horsepower and acceleration; the P450 offers 444 horsepower, while the F-type R configuration has 575 hp. A new range of colours and interior details is also available, with luxury upholstery and multi-way lumbar adjustments for both seats.
Interior Layout and Options
This lineup has two seating options: grained leather and suede cloth facings or ebony Windsor leather performance seats. Though it’s small, it’s a very comfortable vehicle. The entry-level trim comes with 6-way electric front seats and 12-way electric front seats with memory for upper models.
The R-Dynamic models (coupe and convertible) come with a Delta aluminum centre console and R-Dynamic tread plates. The flagship model of each type has exclusive interior features, such as metal tread plates, a steering wheel with R branding, and a linear vee aluminum console finisher with R branding. All models come with 283L of cargo space and plenty of space for both passengers -- 935mm of headroom and 1,088mm of legroom.
Exterior Layout and Options
Sports cars are traditionally small with optimized aerodynamics, and the new Jaguar is no exception. It’s 1.31m tall and 4.47m long, with 100mm standard ride height. There are three options of wheels: 20” Style 5060, 20" Style 6003 Diamond Turned with Gloss Dark Grey contrast, and 20" Style 1066 Diamond Turned with Gloss Black contrast.
All models come with premium LED headlights and signature daytime running lights. The flagship model of each type has red brake callipers, 380 mm front and 376 mm rear brakes, R body styling, and keyless entry.
Technology, Infotainment, and Connectivity
Sports and family cars are different in many ways, as shown in the tech amenities and infotainment systems. Luxury family cars have loads of infotainment options to entertain everyone during big trips. And while vehicles like the new Jaguar don’t lack technology, these cars focus on options to improve the driving experience.
Standard tech features include the Navigation Pro system and SiriusXM Satellite & HD radio. Also, there’s an interactive driver display and mobile compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. All models have a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, a 10-speaker Meridian sound system, and a TFT screen instrument panel.
Safety and Driver-Assistant Features
Four airbags are available for all models (front and side), plus a rear camera and front and rear parking aids. Sports cars are mostly for car lovers who want to feel and control every aspect of the car. Because of this, there aren’t many driver assistants in this lineup except those essential for safety.
Standard features include an anti-collision system, lane departure warning, and a low tire pressure monitor. Other tech features considerably improve overall performance, like switchable active sports exhaust, electronic active differential with torque vectoring by braking, and adaptive dynamics.
