In addition to sheer luxury, the concept of safety is synonymous with the Jaguar brand. Their latest creation, the 2024 I-Pace, is no exception. Read on to discover all the innovative Jaguar I-Pace security features to ensure peace of mind on the roads.
Architecture And Airbags
The I-Pace is cleverly constructed in lightweight aluminum and includes a thorough collection of six airbags strategically placed to garner maximum protection in the event of a collision. Driver, passenger, side curtain, and thorax airbags are standard features. The rear seats include two ISOFIX points for baby or child car seats. Aluminum and steel encase the battery, providing added protection for all occupants.
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems
Multiple intuitive technologies are incorporated to ensure a safe travelling experience.
Braking
Autonomous Emergency braking is activated when your I-Pace is travelling between five and 80km/hr and a possible collision is present. The brakes will be applied automatically if manual action isn’t taken in time.
Lanes
The Lane Departure Warning feature will detect if the vehicle drifts into the other lane. You’ll receive two notifications: a visual alert and a steering wheel vibration. The Lane Keep Assist feature extends this technology, providing steering assistance to realign your vehicle within the correct lane. A Driver Condition Monitor can sense when the driver’s concentration levels are a concern. This feature will notify the driver and suggest a break from travel.
Cruise Control
The Adaptive Cruise Control system includes a Steering Assist feature. Ideal for rush-hour traffic or long road trips, it automatically steers your vehicle to the centre of the lane and ensures a safe travelling distance.
Blind Spots
The Blind Spot Monitor feature also includes Reverse Traffic Detection, which senses when vehicles move into your blind spot when the I-Pace is reversing. The Blind Spot Assist feature enhances this technology by implementing steering torque to gently steer the I-Pace away from the vehicle in your blind spot.
Parking
The hassle of parking isn’t a problem with the I-Pace. A surround camera system provides a 360-degree exterior view via a touchscreen. The Rear Camera gives you a clear view when reversing. Static lines are displayed on the touchscreen to assist with the direction of the parking manoeuvres. The Advanced Park Assist does most of the work for all types of parking. You’ll only need to focus on braking or accelerating.
Traffic Signs
The Traffic Sign Recognition feature displays important information in the instrument cluster. It also provides speed limit changes and the Adaptive Speed Limiter to adjust your vehicle's speed when needed.
External Sound System
When travelling at a maximum speed of 20km/h, an external acoustic signal informs nearby pedestrians that the I-Pace is in the vicinity.
